Tahoe SAFE Alliance is a community-based organization providing direct services to victims of intimate partner/domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse. Incorporated as an independent non-profit, 501(c)3 public benefit corporation in 1985, the agency maintains four office sites, one shelter, and employs 22 staff members and 2 AmeriCorps.

Tahoe SAFE Alliance believes that every person has the right to live a life free of violence. The agency works to empower victims in reclaiming those rights by providing safety, advocacy, support, and education.

Tahoe SAFE Alliance is currently the only agency providing assistance to victims of intimate partner/domestic violence, and sexual violence in the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee region of California and Nevada and owns/operates the only safe house in the community. All services are free of charge and provided in both English and Spanish.

In 2013, Tahoe SAFE Alliance accomplished many great things including:

  • Provided direct services to 726 women, men, teens, and children

  • 17 women and 9 children received emergency shelter in our Mountain Rose Safe House

  • Provided 102 clients with legal advocacy services

  • Received¬† 1088 calls on our 24-hour Community Helpline

  • Provided 43 adults and children with individual counseling

  • Provided 25 children with group therapy

  • Gave 561 violence prevention presentations to 5,162 kids, teens, and adults

  • 130 volunteers provided 4,425 volunteer hours
